FAQS:
What species do you accept at McBain and Lake City?
We purchase red pine, white pine, Austrian, spruce, and jack pine. We also purchase aspen bolts at our Lake City mill only.

How do I know if my trees are ready to be harvested?
Typically, red pine trees need to be on average 35-40 years old before they are ready for a first thinning. The best way to determine whether trees are ready is to have a Forester meet with you to look over your property and make recommendations.

How many years do you typically wait between thinning’s?
After the first row thinning, there is typically about 8-10 years before another thinning is due. Red pine is usually thinned 3-4 times before it is removed for replanting.

Does Biewer write Forest Management plans?
Our Foresters do write management plans for landowners that we have timber sale contracts with.
